I'm Itay Wainer, a biomedical engineer. I work as a verification engineer on PET and SPECT imaging systems at GE HealthCare, where mechanics, electronics, physics and image quality meet in one system.
I'm a biomedical engineer (B.Sc.), working since May 2025 as a verification engineer on PET and SPECT imaging systems at GE HealthCare. The work is multi-disciplinary by design: mechanics, electronics, physics, software, image quality and radiation safety in one system.
I design the test approach for each area, from hardware to clinical applications, run tests against system and sub-system requirements, debug failures down to root cause and turn the data into clear reports for engineers and stakeholders.
My academic and project work is human-centered biomechanics and measurement. I like building the measurement setup myself, analysing the data and explaining what it means to people who are not engineers. What drives me is the meeting point of engineering and medicine.
In the army I was a regimental combat medic in the Jordan Valley Brigade. I managed incidents under pressure and led a large team of medics. I own tasks end to end, learn new domains fast and work well across teams.
The tools I write code and build with, and the way I work.
I work comfortably in both, with teams in Israel and abroad.
